BMSA is partnered with many local Waco charities and organizations that strive to directly serve the city of Waco and it’s inhabitants.
Pack of hope
Come help unpack boxes of food to prepare for Pack of Hope's assembly line! This event is super fun and will allow you to help a great organization that serves many children in the Waco area
Caritas food pantry
At Caritas Food Pantry, volunteers will join an assembly line to load shopping carts with fresh produce, frozen meat, canned goods, and other food items. The food in the shopping carts will be distributed to members of the Waco community.
Habitat for humanity restore
Volunteers will help organize/maintain store inventory by repackaging, labeling, and measuring ReStore stock! ReStore provides a diverse selection of building materials at reduced prices and serves as a community recycling center for such materials. This is a great opportunity to serve in the local community and help those in need.
urban Reap
Volunteers will help with various tasks such as composting, planting, plant-care maintenance, cleaning, and working in aquaponics. This is also a great way to learn about environmental sustainability and help with the production of food for the lower-income community!
Mission Waco After School Program
Mission Waco’s after school program, the Rock, provides a place for children age 4-11 to go after school to have fun while also building important character attributes. Volunteers will play games with the kids, help with homework, and simply show the kids love in an underprivileged area of Waco. If you have previously volunteered with Mission Waco in the kids department you can simply sign up on your volunteer portal. If you have not, there are a few training steps you need to complete before you get started.
